Environmental Pledge

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges faced by us all, and everyone has a part to play in reducing our impact. This means managing our business in a sustainable way that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and improves resource efficiency.

The VTF&S team have decided to up their environmentally friendly game – We have pledged that we will Reduce, Reuse & Recycle!

A scientific study stated, that every year there is an additional 8 million metric tonnes of plastic that ends up in our oceans. We think this is unacceptable and what to do our bit to help keep our planet clean and as healthy as possible.

So here is our pledge…

Paper & Stationery

Everyone knows to only print when it’s essential (we use recycled copy paper), but what about the use of pens and pencils. We are moving over to more eco-friendly pens (from recycled plastics), but if we can use pencils instead, we will.

Recycling

Most offices now have some sort of recycling procedure in place, but could you do more? We will be conducting a waste audit to determine what we are currently putting in our general waste bins, and what could actually be recycled/reused.

Electricity & Water Reduction

We installed a new energy & water monitoring system; we assess this every week and encourage ideas on how to minimise the usage within our office environment.

Carbon Neutral

Strive to achieve a Carbon Neutral workplace. We will perform an energy audit to find out our current baseline, and then calculate how we can go about reducing our carbon footprint.

Plastic Free Friday

Every Friday our team are asked to go Plastic Free, in the attempt to reduce the amount of plastic we dispose of. So, no more pre-packed sandwiches in plastic boxes, or supermarket salad in a plastic bowl. This will also be part of our incentive scheme along with the recycling.

Tree Planting

The UK needs more trees. They are the ultimate multi-taskers in the fight against climate change. They lock up carbon, fight flooding, reduce pollution, nurture wildlife and make landscapes more resilient.

VTF&S pledge to plant a tree for every new maintenance client that comes on board so you can be sure you are doing your bit to save the planet… Because #EveryTreeCounts in the battle against climate change.
