Linear Heat Detection (LHD)

Linear Heat Detection (LHD) offers fast, reliable fire and overheating detection suitable for most environments, including those with challenging conditions like airflow, chemicals, or contaminants that may affect traditional systems.

An Linear Heat Detection system typically comprises heat sensing cable and a controller. When the cable reaches a preset temperature, the controller reports the event, indicating its location, to the fire alarm panel providing an early warning of a potential issue.

This technology is ideal for applications such as cable trays, conveyor belts, tunnels, car parks, hazardous areas, solar PV installations, thatched roofs and temporary scaffold installations, where its robust nature provides an effective solution.

VTF&S can install three types of system: EN54 Fixed, which is BS EN54-28:2016 approved and provides event location; Digital, a cost-effective, fixed-temperature option; and Analogue, offering continuous temperature monitoring with user-configurable alarm thresholds and a pre-alarm function, our designers and site team have expert knowledge required to specify and install the right system for the right environment.
